About Me

My Journey

I was born and raised in central Minnesota, where my love for nature, community, and staying active throughout the seasons flourished. Spending time outdoors, playing, biking, and camping with my family are some of my fondest childhood memories. Dance was also a big part of my life from a young age and into my college years.

Before studying at Bastyr University, I earned a degree in biology and chemistry from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. After completing my undergraduate studies, I worked in various healthcare settings, ranging from clinics to hospitals. While I was working, I was inspired by rural family doctors managing care from birth to death. At the same time, I noticed that more and more patients were seeking nutritional support and other alternatives to medications. The disconnect between conventional approaches to care and addressing the root cause of health issues became clear to me. These experiences sparked my interest in nutrition, mental health, and reproductive care, ultimately guiding me to naturopathic medicine.

I strongly believe that our overall health is directly linked to physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being. This belief has led me to pursue naturopathic medicine, seeking to integrate mind and body in my approach to care.  I have since made Washington my home, drawn to the vibrant life of the Pacific Northwest, which fuels my active lifestyle and deep-rooted love for the outdoors.

My Practice

I am a Washington state licensed naturopathic physician, dedicated to helping patients of all ages achieve their health goals. My specialties include sexual and reproductive health, fatigue, optimal aging, menopause, mental health, pain reduction, and stress management. I am a strong advocate for preventative care, focusing on foundational health practices such as quality sleep, hydration, balanced diet, digestion, stress management, movement, ergonomics, mindful breathing, and nurturing connections.

During my time at Bastyr University, I delved deeply into my clinical interests, gaining a thorough understanding of pain management, mental health, and reproductive health. My passion for mental and sexual healthcare inspired me to pursue additional training in pelvic floor therapy, gynecology, and mind-body therapies. In my practice, I integrate naturopathic medicine with physical medicine modalities like craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, acupuncture, pelvic floor therapy, and trigger point therapy.

I am devoted to enhancing access to naturopathic care through community outreach. My mission as a Naturopathic Doctor is to support your healing journey and assist you in reconnecting with yourself. I practice whole-person healthcare, integrating the mind, body, and spirit to promote overall well-being. I am committed to walking alongside you on your path to health, offering the compassionate care and support necessary for you to flourish.

My Approach and Philosophy

As your Naturopathic Doctor, I am committed to walking with you on your health journey, supporting your healing, and guiding you back to a deeper connection with yourself. I also aim to ignite an appreciation for nature's healing power and encourage people to connect with nature in a meaningful way.

I believe in addressing the root causes of chronic health issues, which can be related to emotions and thoughts. I empower patients to explore their stories and understand how these narratives impact their well-being for long-term healing.

Working in close collaboration with my patients, I seek to improve their overall well-being and amplify their body's innate healing abilities. My approach blends modern medicine with traditional healing methods. By creating personalized treatment plans and emphasizing preventative measures, I aim to help my patients achieve a sense of balance and wholeness.

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is a distinct healthcare profession that uses a combination of modalities to address the whole person with an emphasis on treating the underlying cause of symptoms and prevention of disease. I use a variety of healing methods to create the conditions for health in your body. These methods may include lifestyle modifications, botanical medicine, nutritional supplements, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, therapeutic counseling, and routine and specialty lab testing. By addressing all aspects that determine a patient's health, I can help correct imbalances in the body and encourage the body's self-healing abilities to function at full capacity.

Guiding Principles of Naturopathic Medicine:

  • First Do No Harm
  • The Healing Power of Nature
  • Identify and Treat the Cause
  • Doctor as Teacher
  • Treat the Whole Person
  • Prevention

What is a Naturopathic Doctor?

Naturopathic Doctors complete intensive four-year, graduate-level naturopathic medical school programs and take rigorous professional board exams to become licensed as primary care physicians in their respective states. A Naturopathic Doctor (ND) is educated in the same basic sciences as a Medical Doctor (MD), but studies natural and holistic approaches to treatment, including botanical and physical medicine modalities, in addition to pharmaceutical management.

By choosing a Naturopathic Doctor, you are choosing a practitioner who will take a comprehensive look at your health and work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses your unique needs.
